On January 3rd, the Graduation Ceremony for the Advanced Students and the End-of-Term Summary Meeting for the Pre-college Students of the 2024–2025 academic year’s first semester at the School of International Cultural Exchange of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was held in room 214 of the college. The college’s Party Committee Secretary Yang Hong, Dean Dong Jing, Vice Dean Rong Jun, Teaching Supervisor Dai Mengxia, Director of the International Education and Teaching Center Lu Huihui, Deputy Director of the International Education and Teaching Center Zhou Yang, Director of the Chinese Program Lin Lin, Director of the Pre-college Program Wang Liansheng, and other teaching staff joined the 55 preparatory students, 68 language students and exchange students from all over the world to celebrate the occasion.
Dean Dong Jing first congratulated the advanced students on their successful graduation and affirmed the learning achievements of the pre-college students. She extended her New Year greetings to the students, encouraging them to continue studying Chinese, pursue their personal dreams, and contribute to the cultural exchange between China and other countries.
Following this, Wang Liansheng, the director of the pre-college program, and teacher representatives Shao Yujie, Yang Yeshan, Xiao Xue, and Hua Zheng took the stage to deliver speeches. They expressed their care and encouragement for the students, acknowledged their learning achievements, and wished all students to keep striving forward with new hopes for the New Year and embark on new journeys.
Then, student representatives from each class spoke with gratitude, sharing their learning experiences at SUFE and expressing their appreciation to the college and their teachers. It is worth mentioning that the mother of Zhitao from the Dutch class also took to the stage to express her gratitude to the college, mentioning that her daughter had been sharing her joy and gains with the family every day since arriving in Shanghai.
During the award ceremony, the teachers from the college presented the students with graduation certificates, award certificates, and prizes.
The conference concluded with student performances that added a joyful atmosphere, with the wonderful performances winning rounds of applause from the audience.
This conference not only witnessed the students' rich learning achievements over the past semester but also looked forward to a new future for their learning and growth. As the conference came to a successful end, the students began their new journeys.
