On the evening of April 27th, the 20th International Cultural Festival special performance and the 2024 Chunhui Music Festival kicked off at the square outside the comprehensive sports stadium, with thousands of Chinese and foreign students, alumni, and faculty members watching the event live. Performers from all over the world presented a wonderful music feast.
After the dazzling light show Colorful World, Together We Walk, Chen Xinxuan (Malaysia) ignited the whole venue with the song Queen. Subsequently, the applause was continuous, and the cheers were endless. The performers released their talents and charm on the stage, making this night full of infinite vitality and energy.
As a special performance of the International Culture Festival, the Chunhui Music Festival showcases the charm of different music cultures from around the world. Liu Renying (South Korea) and Jiang Aixi (South Korea) brought the movie The Greatest Showman insert song Rewrite the Stars, which was melodious and touching; Hu Ailai (Kazakhstan) used her magnetic and unique voice to bring the audience a Heartbreak Anniversary, which resonated with people; Peng Danyang performed the French song Sympathique, conveying the vision of a good life; the student choir brought the Heavenly Street Market with lyrics written by Guo Moruo, which pulled the audience from the noisy urban life back to the starry, light cloud blue night sky, allowing people to enjoy a unique tranquil atmosphere; Zhou Chang performed the Chinese musical Butterfly with a beautiful voice; the international student choir brought a chorus with Chinese traditional cultural characteristics Chasing the Moon, and nearly 40 members from more than 20 countries sang their longing for their hometown in Chinese.
At the same time, the cultural market is also being held simultaneously. Different stalls attract the audience to punch in, showcasing the charm of different cultures from around the world.
The performers on stage were singing and dancing, and the audience was also immersed in it, using glow sticks and cheers to gather a warm ocean for the performers. Our school's 2023 international student alumni Zhou Huan (Brazil) returned to the school to participate in the music festival, she said: Students with different cultural backgrounds weave unforgettable melodies together through music. In the singing, I heard the collision and integration of culture, and saw the vitality and passion of youth. I not only enjoyed an audio-visual feast but also gained a friendship and understanding that transcends national boundaries. The Chunhui Music Festival is not only a performance but also a spiritual exchange and a cultural dialogue. Let us look forward to such a grand event, which can become a bridge connecting different cultures and promoting mutual understanding, making the world more harmonious and beautiful through music.
Zhang Qiqi, a student from the School of International Education, said: This is my second time coming to the Chunhui Music Festival. The atmosphere of the whole venue is boiling, as if I can feel the rhythm of the music jumping in the air. Being in it, I can't help but be infected by the enthusiasm of students from all over the world. They sing beautiful melodies in their own languages, showing the charm of their respective cultures. From rock to pop, to folk music, every program brings me endless surprises and enjoyment. In this vibrant music feast, I feel the blend of cultures and the diversity of the world, and a surge of indescribable excitement and joy in my heart.
To further promote the integration of Chinese and foreign cultures, the organizers of this music festival have added several programs of Chinese and foreign student cooperation. Zhang Lexin and Guo Renyi (Malaysia) jointly brought the guitar and singing Ordinary Friends, with a gentle and mellow melody, which is memorable. Chen Tianyi, Qian Zhixian, Li Xuecong, Peng Danyang, Chen Minglu Jing, Jiang Aixi (South Korea), and Chen Yingjia (Malaysia) performed As You Wish, with a slow melody flowing and beautiful harmony, which moved the audience. Ji Zian, Guo Renyi (Malaysia), Chen Xinxuan (Malaysia), Zhang Wang Xueli (Malaysia), and Huang Zhengchao (Malaysia) sang Until the End of the World, expressing their infinite expectations for the future and love for life. Ji Zian, a freshman student from the School of Business who participated in the Chunhui Music Festival for the first time, said: I not only sang on the stage but also met many international friends. They not only gave me guidance on the details of the performance, but also talked to me about the stories, beautiful scenery, and delicious food of their hometowns in their spare time, which made me yearn for these cultures. I cherish this rare friendship.
Behind the smooth holding of the event, there is the silent dedication of the behind-the-scenes staff. At the scene, the backstage groups work together, and students from different countries work together to ensure the smooth progress of the event. At the scene, I saw the props group practicing the props up and down process over and over again, the control group carefully checking the actor's needs with the lighting master and sound master, the order group wearing fluorescent vests to maintain the order of the scene, the shooting group trying to find the best position in the audience, the backstage group quickly distributing glow sticks, the urging group communicating with the actors about the process details, all of this shows the strength of the International Student Federation: In this organization, although we come from different countries, we are always a family. So, as a former member of the International Student Federation, we several 'old people' also gathered again this year to become staff members and contribute to the success of the event. Zheng Yi (Brazil), the former executive chairman of the International Student Federation, said.
Chen Heyuan (Malaysia), the executive chairman of the International Student Federation, said, It took three months from planning to execution, and it was very touching to see the ideas in the sky become a successful music feast. I would like to thank the heads of the cooperative college student unions, the actors, and all the backstage staff members. Everyone worked together to complete the scene of a large music festival, which is very beautiful and shocking. This event not only united international students but also gave us the opportunity to have in-depth exchanges with Chinese students. No matter in the past, now, or in the future, the International Student Federation will continue to move towards this goal.
