Program Scheme

1. Funding Categories

All graduate programs are eligible. This includes Master's programs and Doctoral programs.

2 Duration of Funding

The standard funding period is determined at the time of admission:

  • Master's Programs: 2 academic years

  • Doctoral Programs: 3 or 4 academic years

3 Benefits

The scholarship provides:

  • Full tuition waiver and on-campus accommodation fees.

  • A monthly living allowance (RMB 3,000 for Master's students; RMB 3,500 for Doctoral students).

  • Comprehensive medical insurance.



Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health, hold a valid foreign passport, and comply with the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China.

2. For Master's Program Applicants:

  1. Must hold a bachelor's degree with an excellent academic record.

  2. Should generally be under the age of 35.

For Doctoral Program Applicants:

  1. Must hold a master's degree with an excellent academic record.

  2. Should generally be under the age of 40.

* Applicants who are current students must obtain the required graduation certificate and degree diploma prior to enrollment in the year of admission. Failure to do so will result in the revocation of the admission offer.

3. For English-taught Program Applicants:

A valid TOEFL iBT (score 80 or above), IELTS Academic (score 6.5 or above), or Duolingo English Test (score 110 or above) certificate is required.

   For Chinese-taught Program Applicants:

A valid HSK Level 5 certificate with a minimum score of 180 is required.


Apply Process

There is a three-stage application process which involves applying for entry to the graduate program at SUFE, then applying separately to the CSC for the scholarship after being informed about the University admission decision outcomes.

Stage 1: Apply for a graduate program at SUFE (November 16, 2025-February 28, 2026)

Visit the Study at SUFE website for the list of graduate programs and for information, confirm the specific entry requirements, application process and required documentation for your applicationRemit the application fee (CNY830/1660) and submit the program application through SUFE Applicant Portal (https://ao.sufe.edu.cn) . 

Stage 2: Secure Conditional Offer & Apply for Scholarship (Late March 2026)

SUFE will issue Conditional Offers to applicants who have successfully passed the interview. Students receiving a Conditional Offer must log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn), complete the scholarship application online (selecting Scholarship Type B and Agency No. 10272), and upload your Conditional Offer along with other required documents before final submission.

* Please note: Applicants must have received a Conditional Offer to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Stage 3: University Nomination to CSC (Late March 2026)

SUFE will nominate the most qualified scholarship candidates through the CSC system for expert review. Applicants not nominated by SUFE will automatically be considered for self-funded placement.


Application Documents

Please submit color scans of the original documents through the online application system. Hard copy documents are not required at this stage.

Scholarship Outcomes

1. The name list of scholarship winners comes out in late June or in July. SUFE will inform you via email if your name is in the list and send you the admission package (Admission Notice, Confirmation Form for Study in China (JW201 Form) , etc.) .

2. The final award of the Chinese Government Scholarship is contingent upon a successful evaluation by the CSC expert review panel. Only candidates who pass this review will be granted the scholarship to study at our university.

* The CSC reserves the rights to decide the host university for scholarship winners. Each scholarship winner, including those with admission offers from different universities, will be granted no more than one scholarship.

* Scholarship winners shall not change their host university, field of study, language of instruction, or duration of study stipulated on the Admission Notice.

* The time line of the selection process is subject to change according to CSC's workflow.

* SUFE reserves the right to revoke admission and the scholarship will be cancel as well if:

  • you fail to register for 2026 fall intake on the registration day (see on the Admission Notice).

  • falsehood is found in the documents/certificates used for application. 

  • unable to present the official graduating certificate and degree certificate during the matriculation at SUFE in September 2026 (for applicants who are in the final year at the time of application)
