On the evening of May 13th, SUFE held the closing ceremony of its 19th International Culture Festival along with the Chunhui Music Festival. The atmosphere at the music festival was electric, filling the early summer campus with energy. Zhu Mingxiong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, along with leaders and teachers from relevant departments and schools, attended the event.

In the heart-pounding rhythms of a Malaysian 24 Festive Drums team, the music festival officially kicked off. "A single flower does not make a spring, but a hundred flowers blooming brings spring to the garden" is a saying that reflects the festival's tradition of celebrating diverse global cultures. "Each drum in the represents a solar term, so each beat resonates with the pulse of the universe, making each performance a dance between humans and nature," said TAN KENYUEN, drum team member and a Malaysian student at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The drum beats signaled the awakening of all things, and as the timeline of the 24 seasonal periods reached the "Start of Spring," the international student choir took the stage with an original song "Flowers from the Other Shore" that depicted a harmonious international campus in full bloom.

Amid applause and cheers, various performances showcased the students' youthful vitality. The song "If You" by Jiang Aixi (Korea), a Chinese-Thai fusion song "Shi Lian Zhen Xian Lian Meng" by Zhang Kangtai (Thailand) and Li Meicheng (Thailand), a trio song "Blue" by Li Zeyi, Ma Yingying and Liu Yilin, the adapted version of "Mojito" by the student choir, the song "Shuo Hao BuKu" by Huang Zhengzhao (Malaysia), the song Blank Space by Qian zhixian, the song "Wo Yao Wo Men Zai Yi Qi" by Wu Yixuanand,“Hai Kuo Tian Kong” by Kuo Renyi (Malaysia), all of them showcased the youthful vitality and dreams on this early summer evening.

Currently, as the concept of a global community with a shared future gains traction worldwide, people from all countries grow increasingly connected with more trade exchanges. This Chunhui Music Festival was co-hosted by the international students society and various students' unions from College of Business, School of Finance, School of Law and School of Foreign Studies. During the event planning and execution, both Chinese and international students had thorough interactions, working together to present this grand musical feast. Both Chinese and international students were active at the on-site service desk and in the cultural experience area. Liu Yishun (Malaysia), Head of Culture and Arts Department of the International Students Society, said, "Organising such a music festival gives international and Chinese students an opportunity to have in-depth exchanges. In this process, we learnt from each other, deepened our understanding and became friends.”

Notably, dozens of international alumni also returned to SUFE for the festival. Lin Kaiyun, a Thai MIB student graduating in 2021, performed "Mountain and Sea" that amazed the audience. Lin Kaiyun said, "It feels warm and familiar to be back on campus. It's nice to revisit the international cultural festival. I hope I can come back more often in the future."

The festival concluded with the song "Unity Among the Four Seas." As the Belt and Road Initiative and the concept of a global community with a shared future celebrate their 10th anniversaries, SUFE students will continue to ignite the era and march toward the future with an open spirit.
