On the evening of September 22nd, as the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the "Ushering in a New Chapter" 2023 Mid-Autumn Welcome Gala took place at the International Cultural Exchange School. Dong Jing, dean of the school, along with Cai Rong, director-level organizer, joined the international students and Chinese graduate students in this exciting gala.

Dong Jing, on behalf of the School, expressed a warm welcome to new students once again. She encouraged both Chinese and international students to understand, respect each other, and grow together, making friendship a strong support to their university life and personal growth, contributing to more Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.

The gala reached a first climax with hedance "Super" from the international student dance troupe. Following this, the Chinese graduate students' choir performance of"Hou Lai," the duet "Wu Ding" by Lin Yu (Ireland) and Chen Xinxuan (Malaysia), the dance by Chinese students, the solo song "If You" by Jiang Aixi (Korea), the song "Easy on Me" by Mingyue (Turkmenistan), "The Love that Never Gets Lost" by Jin Xiao and Ge Ge (Chinese graduate students), all brought the crowd to new heights. Students in the audience swayed their balloons to the melody and sang along under the gala lights, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere. During the open-mic session, the song "Love Letter to Filmmakers" by Hou Yanyan (Malaysia) and the song "Dao Xiang" by the Communication Division of Business College Students' Union pushed the atmosphere to new peaks.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the concept of a community of shared future for mankind. It is our aim to deepen and broaden Sino-foreign cultural cooperation, promote mutual respect, understanding, and trust among countries, and jointly build a new world of mutual help and harmony, making new contributions to a community of shared future. This gala, with the help from the student organization, has also promote the interaction between Chinese and international students. Students' Union members from the Business College and School of Finance attended the gala, striking up friendships through interactions with the international students present. Especially during the game sessions, Chinese and international students worked together to finish games with shared passion and support, presenting a friendly vibe on campus.

At the end of the gala, students from Turkmenistan dressed in ethnic costumes performed a dance with distinct cultural traits. The gala came to a close amid cheerful applauses.

The event was organized by the International Cultural Exchange School and co-hosted by the International Students Society. Going forward, the school plans to step up their efforts for international students to learn more about China's national conditions through career planning lectures, social practices, enterprise visits, SUFE history talks and extra-curricular activities among Chinese and international students, instilling the ideals of friendship, peace, and cooperation in the hearts of our students.
